Privacy
The short version: this site uses basic analytics, sets no advertising cookies, and collects nothing else.
What the site collects
Analytics. I use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are read and roughly where visitors come from. It records page views, the referring site, device and browser type and an approximate location, and it sets cookies (_ga and _ga_*) so repeat visits can be told apart. Google states that GA4 does not store IP addresses. The script is not loaded at all if your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.
Email. This site has no forms. If you write to me, I keep the conversation for as long as it is useful for working together.
Fonts. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when a page loads.
Hosting. My hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and requested page) for security and reliability.
Your choices
- Turn on Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser, or use a content blocker, and analytics will not load.
- Delete the
_gacookies from your browser at any time. - Ask me to delete anything you have sent me by emailing drashtantnayak@dal.ca.
